About the position

As a Specialist II in Revenue Accounting at American Airlines, you will be an integral part of the Revenue Accounting Team within the Finance Division. This position is designed for individuals who are ready to explore a world of possibilities, both at work and during their time off. You will be responsible for performing basic accounting functions within various specialized Revenue Accounting areas, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the department's operations. In this role, you will engage in a variety of accounting tasks, including auditing accounting data, processing refund claims, and managing check requests. You will also be involved in the calculation of debit and credit memos, as well as journal vouchers. Your responsibilities will extend to researching and resolving accounting discrepancies in a timely manner, which may involve correspondence with external contacts when necessary. Additionally, you will complete data entry of accounting information and edit or audit daily passenger ticket and ancillary refund requests. As part of your duties, you will distribute and store month-end closing statistics reports and perform a variety of other functions or ad-hoc projects as assigned by your immediate supervisor or manager. This role is essential in aiding the department's and company's achievement of goals and business objectives, making it a pivotal position within the organization.

Responsibilities
? Perform basic accounting functions such as auditing accounting data, processing refund claims, and managing check requests.

Requirements
? High School diploma or GED Equivalency.

? Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field or equivalent training/experience (preferred).

? Airline/travel agency accounting experience (preferred).
,
? Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

? Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.

? Excellent organizational skills.

? Ability to effectively handle multiple projects with minimal supervision.

? Logical and analytical thinking ability.
