Job Description

Essential Functions:

Follows the ANA Nursing Process protocol established in 2010 for performing the following tasks:
? Acquires thorough information essential to understanding the health and circumstances of healthcare consumers.
? Evaluates the assessment findings to determine the diagnosis or complications.
? Foreshadows the anticipated outcomes for a custom-designed plan targeting the healthcare consumer.
? Formulates a plan that suggests strategies and options to achieve anticipated consequences.
? Puts into practice the recognized plan. Validates patient progression according to the plan.
? Coordination of Care involves overseeing the organization of healthcare services.
? Health education and health promotion strategies are utilized to promote wellness and ensure a secure environment.
? Advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists provide consultation to impact the identified plan, improve the capabilities of others, and facilitate positive change.
? Evaluates the advancement towards achieving desired results.

Abides by the ANA Standards of Professional Performance, with a focus on the 2010 edition:
? The systematic enhancement of nursing practice contributes to its quality and effectiveness
? Demonstrates proficiency and expertise consistent with contemporary nursing practice
? Reviewing individual nursing performance in light of professional standards, guidelines, and statutory provisions
? Collaborates with others to enhance the professional development of peers and colleagues
? Collaborates with patients, family members, and additional individuals in the provision of nursing services
? Ethical guidelines are implemented comprehensively in all practice areas
? Incorporates research findings into real-world utilization

? In order to provide competent care, Registered Professional Nurses must follow the legal mandates of the state where they are employed and adhere to the standards, policies, and guidelines set by accrediting and certifying organizations.
? Operates within the framework provided by the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Proficiently employs applicable technology and software to:
? Assist in documenting and organizing nursing activities and patient care schedules.
? Engage with important job-related platforms to actively contribute as a committed team member, such as accessing corporate email services, completing iLearn training modules, participating in employee satisfaction surveys, accessing information on benefits and compensation packages, and understanding company policies and procedures.
? Always seeking opportunities to enhance the quality of patient care by utilizing innovative and creative approaches to problem-solving.
? Extra assignments as instructed.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
