How will you make an impact in this role?

Within the International Card Services (ICS) organization in Canada, the Business Enablement & Controls team is focused on supporting the organization to identify new controls and enhance existing controls by partnering with ICS, Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit Teams.

The Director, Business Enablement & Controls , leads this new team and will achieve the above objectives across the following areas: AML/KYC, Business Exams & Testing, TLM, Operational Risk Event Management, and Offer, Benefit, and Rewards enablement. This team will identify and own core action plans while also providing support and coordination across the ICS business to ensure business control needs are achieved.

The successful candidate has a proven track record of translating complex business needs into detailed project requirements and executing those requirements in a matrix organization. The individual is a strong collaborator with a demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships across diverse stakeholders while developing and engaging a high performing team.

Core Responsibilities:

Strengthen overall governance and improve end to end controls. Elevate first line testing and ensure regulatory compliance. Robust coordination across control teams and oversight for all testing. Centralize business ownership and/or program coordination of broad (cross functional) and/or urgent requests & deliverables. Centralize ownership for complex platform OREs. Create a centre of subject matter experts to support and guide ICS colleagues across key control areas. Be the centre of excellence to partner with Control functions on new workstreams & action plans.

Qualifications:

Significant experience in process management and leadership of cross-functional initiatives. Knowledge of Blue Box systems, processes, and core functions an asset. Proven track record of leading comprehensive strategic reviews, developing recommendations and successful project delivery. Strong collaborator with ability to establish/build credibility with key stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to thrive within a highly matrixed organization; capable of influencing and building internal alignment. Track record of achievement in a fast paced, dynamic role. Strong people leadership: ability to lead a large, diverse team and motivate others to work through complexity and roadblocks to achieve desired outcomes. University degree or equivalent combination of education and business experience.
