Job Title: Room Inspector

Supervision Exercised: Room Attendants and House Attendants

Supervision Received: Assistant Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeping Manager

SUMMARY

Ensure maximum efficiency in the performance of guest room attendants to acquire and maintain immaculate guest room accommodations, surrounding areas and all public areas.

JOB DUTIES

Inspects all vacant rooms for efficient top conditions and meets housekeeping specifications

Assures cleaning standards are met through training and consistent prescribed procedures

Report all maintenance problems and assure the protection of all hotel property from possible damage

Check room attendance appearance, carts, equipment, and cleaning supplies

Ensure the safety and security of guests and team members

Supervise, assist and direct the staff to maintain and ensure a high level of service

Maintain contact and communicate with all departments: communicate in a precise and easily understood manner

To be informed of all aspects of each function, delegate responsibilities and create a sense of teamwork

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent

A minimum of two (2) years' experience in Housekeeping as an inspector

Minimum of six (6) months plus experience in Housekeeping as an inspector

Prior guest relations training

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding

Knowledge of proper chemical handling

Knowledge of the safe use of cleaning products

Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions

Good oral communication skills

Ability to work well with other people in a timely manner according to standards

Ability to use standard housekeeping equipment
