Santa Maria is seeking an experienced counselor for our Caring for Two program. The CFT Parent Coach/Counselor will be responsible for outreach, education, counseling and care coordination services for families with mothers who are pregnant or have young children and who either have a past history of substance use or who are at risk for future use. Counselor will perform assessments and develop service plans in collaboration with the family, provide brief counseling and intervention services, provide individual and group parenting education and one on one parent coaching, provide care coordination in collaboration with the Recovery Coach, and other duties to ensure the health and wellness of the family. Counselor must have the ability to successfully engage and retain participants and to motivate them to adopt healthy behavioral changes. The chosen candidate will exhibit a genuine passion for serving at-risk women and families and will be comfortable actively engaging families in the home and community setting. Bilingual in Spanish

Skills and Qualifications: Qualified Credential Counselor (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) with appropriate Texas licensure. Interns (LMSW, LPC-I) may be considered. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in a behavioral health field of study; or minimum two years experience working with women who are at risk of substance use or who have addiction or co-occurring disorders; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Counselor will demonstrate solid knowledge of community resources and the recovery community. Counselor must be a team player, be committed to producing measurable outcomes in client behavior, be able to work successfully with limited supervision, and be dedicated to upholding strong ethical standards. Must be computer literate and have the ability to successfully use a variety of web based and MS Office programs. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to document clinical services according to licensure and funding standards. Position requires travel locally within the Greater Houston area and surrounding counties. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required depending on the needs of the families. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. Must possess a valid Texas driver?s license and pass a background check and urinalysis.
