What you'll do:

 Help shoppers choose the most appropriate items according to their needs by offering your expert opinion.
 Show genuine concern for the physical and emotional well-being of animals, and take proactive measures to ensure their proper treatment.
 Perform cashiering duties.
 Perform relevant duties in support of the store's assigned sales goal.
 A crucial aspect of retail management is maintaining accurate stock levels and pricing.
 Comply with the pre-existing operational guidelines, store policies and regulations, and strictly follow the approved procedures.
 Review guest inquiries and appropriately forward them to the Guest Experience Leader and/or Leader on Duty if necessary.
Key Accountabilities:

 To keep living animals healthy and content, it is vital to provide them with the correct care based on established Petco policies and protocols which includes conducting hourly animal health checks and filling out wellness documentation.
 Exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication skills in interactions with professional contacts, placing the company's interests at the forefront consistently.
 Offers engaging and efficient assistance to Petco customers, discerning their needs and recommending relevant items, while effectively utilizing suggestive selling methods to improve total sales.
 To excel in this role, one must have an extensive understanding of nutrition, a strong grasp on Pals Rewards membership sign-up, an in-depth knowledge of the Welcome to the Family program, and proficiency in effective sales tactics.
 Ensures that every guest receives an exceptional experience in all Omni-channel initiatives, such as Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery.
 Takes care of cash management processes such as completing transactions, processing returns and reconciling the cash drawer.
 Works to ensure that merchandise is presented in a manner that meets established criteria and expectations.
 Registers transactions using the cash register and assists customers with carry-out service, including items that weigh 50 pounds or less per trip.
 Follows the loss prevention protocols instated by the organization.
 Assists in the movement of merchandise by following established procedures, which help in ensuring that the store remains properly stocked and inventory counts are accurate.
 Makes sure that the animals, birds, reptiles, and fish in the store receive excellent care, and their habitats are clean, safe, and secured. Additionally, their health is regularly monitored and maintained.
 Store leaders receive immediate alerts if any of the animals, reptiles, birds or fish require medical attention or specialized care.
 Ensures the store maintains its professional appearance by performing housekeeping duties necessary, such as sweeping and mopping floors, dusting merchandise shelves, washing windows, tidying restrooms, etc.
 Aids store management in the correct and precise completion of official documentation needed during store opening and closing times.
 Plays an active role in the conduct of quarterly and annual physical inventory checks.
 Ensures a healthy and safe environment for all store stakeholders, including employees, shoppers, and animals, by strictly adhering to safety procedures and conducting regular cleaning and maintenance activities.
 Undertakes assigned special projects.

Work Environment:
In this position, you will be required to spend prolonged periods on your feet, transporting merchandise and performing other physical tasks.
