Our students leave school with the skills, confidence, and experience to succeed in the career and education paths of their choice. EQA currently runs three high schools, The NET: Central City, the NET: East and The NET: Gentilly, and a middle school program, The Bridge. Position Summary and Responsibilities This position is a unique opportunity to work intensively with a Haitian Creole speaking student. You will join a dedicated and mission aligned team of professionals who believe that every student should have high quality, individualized supports. EQA Schools ESL Teachers are responsible for: Teaching, co-teaching, and tutoring ELL students to insure student access the curriculum and build their English language skills Translate, modify, and adjust assignments, assessments and other documents to insure student success Collaborating with the team to insure all ELL students receive the appropriate supports, accommodations, and modifications Building and leveraging transformative relationships for student growth Constantly developing your own craft Position Requirements: Must be fluent in Spanish Must be comfortable with online learning/google classroom/zoom and other virtual platforms 2+ years teaching ELL students with a demonstrated record raising student achievement A BA or BS required Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship building & management skills Learning mindset dedicated to effectively and innovatively problem solving and constantly improving Passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and for being a part of a strong, mission-driven team Commitment to EQA?s mission, vision and growth Details Start Date: ASAP Location: TBD Schedule: 40 hours per week Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 based on previous experience Reports to: Special Education Director Expected salary : $45000 - 55000 per year Location : New Orleans, LA Apply Job!
