Job title: Teaching Assistants (Multiple vacancies) Company: Avon Public Schools Job description : Qualifications: Connecticut teaching certification preferred. The successful candidate will be a member of a dedicated team who can work within a tight schedule, remain highly organized, and successfully teach individuals and small groups very specific strategies to address identified areas of weakness. Experience in the area of reading and mathematics remediation are preferred skills. Responsibilities: To provide assistance to students under the direction of a certified teacher including: small group instruction, behavior management, data collection, lesson prep, and co-teaching. Terms of Employment: Up to 35 hours a week as determined by building principal exclusive of a 30-minute unpaid lunch; $20.00 per hour. No employee benefits are associated with this position. Flexible schedule available for candidates, three, six, or eight hour daily shifts available. Applicants who are selected for interviews will be invited to the district hiring fair on August, 2, 2023. Selected candidates will be interviewed by school and district administrators. Successful candidates will be offered a position at the hiring fair and will be able to begin the district's onboarding process with our staff.
