Job Overview

We are on the lookout for a committed Healthcare Facility Surveyor to become a vital part of our team. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while featuring the excitement of national travel, with requirements of up to 75% travel. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with evaluating compliance with federal standards at various healthcare facilities, thereby ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients and residents across the nation.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct on-site assessments to ensure compliance with Medicare-Medicaid federal regulations at healthcare facilities.
• Engage in preparatory activities including off-site research, facility tours, care observations, record reviews, and interviews with staff and families.
• Assess the quality of care, consumer rights, and the physical conditions of healthcare facilities.
• Articulate findings and compliance concerns to facility personnel during site visits and exit conferences, fostering mutual comprehension.
• Review corrective action plans for acceptability and monitor subsequent surveys to ensure effective implementation.
• Support the training of healthcare facilities and contribute to bureau training initiatives.
• Participate in team activities and collaborate in workgroups as necessary.

Required Skills
• Strong organizational abilities, capable of prioritizing and managing tasks both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills, maintaining a professional demeanor while addressing conflicts and seeking assistance when needed.
• Proficiency in making independent decisions and effectively managing the survey process.
• Comfort in both clinical and administrative settings.

Qualifications
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or a related discipline.
• Completion of CMS Long-Term Care Basic Training and successful passing of the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of recent experience as a surveyor in the accreditation or certification of healthcare facilities.
• Active clinical licensure (e.g., RD, LCSW) is highly advantageous.
