Job Description Summary Responsible for the assessment, improvement, and governance of data and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of the organizationÂs data assets in compliance with policy and regulatory obligations. Contribute to the development of the enterprise data governance strategy and lead initiatives across business and technical domains to accelerate speed to insights from company data assets. Serve as a leader on the team to direct/coach on policy and technical matters. Build and nurture relationships with key data owners/stakeholders, and resources outside of the team (e.g. IT, Legal, Compliance). Job Description Responsibilities Analyze and investigate data using SQL and reporting tools with an emphasis on root cause discovery of data issues Create, socialize, and manage a data quality program that focuses on a scalable framework to investigate immediate needs as well as a backlog of lower priorities Lead cross-functional business and technology teams to drive data quality, data standards, ease-of-use, and data security/privacy policy adoption with a focus on high business value and accurate/timely delivery Evangelize data governance and build a collective shared vision for focused and consistent ongoing data initiatives Provide technical expertise and assess/recommend new solutions to advance the Data Governance mission Execute on rectifying data issues with a high degree of complexity for multiple data domains and/or across numerous lines of business Interact with the Data Governance Council; guide, lead and propose policy changes and/or new policies Keep abreast of global personal data and privacy legislation (proposed and effective); deliver thought leadership for responses and compliance with same Audit existing business practices to ensure compliance with the organizationÂs privacy and data governance policies. Focus on process improvement Mentor and direct more junior Data Stewards and teammates Qualifications BachelorÂs degree in computer science or other quantitative discipline with a focus on data usage and critical thinking, or relevant business degree Eight years of experience in a similar role Skilled in disciplined data stewardship and governance practices Expert understanding of database management, data mining and reporting concepts Technical competence using SQL, big data technologies, Hadoop, and AWS Ability to bridge business and technical concepts to advance objectives Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills Data analysis expertise using traditional SQL tools and modern data prep tools Self-starter and willing to investigate and collaborate in order to arrive at solutions and deliver results Experience with Collibra DQ, Collibra Catalogue, Alation, and other modern data management technologies preferred Detail oriented and well organized Preferred Qualifications Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: Data Governance Master Data Management Data Quality Metadata Management Data Architecture and Modeling Compensation **Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to applicable pay transparency and compensation posting laws.
