Retail Associate Trainee (Entry Level Retail Banker)
About the position
The Retail Associate Trainee position at Valley National Bank involves assisting clients with routine banking transactions while adhering to the bank's quality service standards and operational procedures. Trainees will engage in training classes and development experiences to build a foundation for a career in Retail Banking.
- Responsibilities
- Perform all transactions required by customers using appropriate technology. ,
- Process deposits and withdrawals, including loan payments and savings. ,
- Sell money orders and cashiers' checks. ,
- Process or balance individual cash boxes and perform necessary office work. ,
- File signature cards and complete end-of-day proof. ,
- Maintain and balance a cash box. ,
- Utilize technology such as Teller Scanning Equipment and Cash Recycling machines. ,
- Support customers in using Coin Machines. ,
- Meet customer expectations and achieve service quality standards. ,
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies. ,
- Participate in and complete required training and development experiences.
- Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED. ,
- Experience dealing with the public. ,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ,
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. ,
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. ,
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and high accuracy. ,
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. ,
- Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. ,
- Proficient computer skills.
