About Us
We are a fast-growing cryptocurrency exchange platform seeking a highly experienced Compliance Officer based in Canada. This individual will ensure compliance with local regulations, liaise with government authorities, and develop internal policies to maintain regulatory adherence.
Responsibilities
â?¢ Develop, implement, and oversee compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to Canadian financial regulations.
â?¢ Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies such as FINTRAC, OSC, AMF, BC Securities Commission, and IIROC.
â?¢ Ensure the company remains compliant with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations.
â?¢ Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required. â?¢ Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to internal policies.
â?¢ Conduct compliance training sessions for internal teams.
â?¢ Assist in obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses for business operations in Canada. â?¢ Work closely with legal, risk, and operations teams to mitigate compliance risks.
Requirements
â?¢ Must be based in Canada with a strong understanding of Canadian financial and securities regulations.
â?¢ Bachelorâ??s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
â?¢ Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal roles, preferably in the financial services, cryptocurrency, or FinTech industry.
â?¢ Deep understanding of AML, KYC, and securities regulations in Canada.
â?¢ Experience working with FINTRAC, OSC, IIROC, or other regulatory agencies.
â?¢ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective negotiation with regulators.
â?¢ Ability to work independently and proactively manage regulatory matters.
â?¢ Previous experience in cryptocurrency compliance is a strong asset.
