Hourly Salary Range:
$29.71 - $39.52

DESCRIPTION
The Field Operations Welder performs specialized welding, cutting, grinding, general repairs and painting operations in the repair and maintenance of solid waste containers and vehicle components.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
? Weld, cut, grind, fabricate and repair solid waste containers including painting when needed.
? Fabricate needed parts to facilitate repairs and improvements of solid waste containers and vehicle components.
? Perform welding and fabrication of different types of metals, utilizing Arc welding, tungsten inert gas welding, flux-core welding, plastic welding, and oxygen/acetylene welding and brazing.
? Weld ferrous and non-ferrous components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
? Operate and/or maintain a variety of medium and heavy equipment, utility vehicles, tools, diagnostics and measuring devices and other specialized equipment.
? Rebuild worn and broken welds, tools and sections of equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Requires one (1) year of experience in welding and fabrication.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant?s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
Requires high school diploma, GED or equivalency. Welding diploma from a welding trade school is preferred.
The term ?equivalent? means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours).
Certification, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
? Possession of a valid driver?s license
