The Teacher?s Aide is responsible to support to a Group teacher and Assistant teacher by helping in creating a classroom environment that inspires children. As a Teacher?s Aide, you will work with children and perform additional tasks to support teachers in providing a comprehensive educational program. Our ideal candidate is industrious, cooperative and knowledgeable about educational best practices and child development.
SCOPE
The teacher?s aide will be respectful with children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. Failure to provide adequate services may place children at risk.
EDUCATION
? College degree required Early Childhood Education or
?Child Development Association (CDA) Credential.
? High school diploma or GED required
? 1 year? experience as Teaching experience.
? Up to 1 year of relevant experience working with children ages birth-5 in a classroom setting.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
? Early Child Development knowledge and experience.
? Good communication, problem solving, and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude /disposition.
? Ability to use the computer to input developmental data.
? Ability to effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities.
? Ability to make decisions on behalf of children and protect their well-being.
? Must be able to manage confidential information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
? Frequently walks, uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talks or hears.
? Often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat or crawl.
? carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child.
? May provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, toileting, and diapering.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
? Prepare materials for bulletin boards.
? Operate equipment including computers, printers, photocopiers, and laminators.
? Ensure that children have all materials necessary for class activities
? Provide extra help as needed to children with physical, mental, or linguistic limitations.
? Take daily class attendance and maintain accurate attendance records.
? Coordinate with classroom teachers to determine daily tasks.
? Supervise children in various settings including classrooms, playgrounds, and field trips
? Participate in parent-teacher conferences as requested by teachers
? Attend staff meetings, professional development, and trainings.
? Help children in changing diapers.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
