Senior Research in Computer Vision for Generative AI - Summer Internship

Siemens Foundational Technology (FT), the central R&D department of Siemens, plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products. Acting as a strategic partner, FT supports Siemens' executive units with a primary research focus on future technologies for industry, infrastructure, mobility, and healthcare.

The Senior Research Intern in AI and Computer Vision will be instrumental in advancing our AI-driven computer vision research. This position is crucial for developing innovative solutions that enhance image analysis, improve system accuracy, and reduce processing time. You will collaborate with the research team at Siemens Foundational Technology in Princeton, NJ.

In this role you will work on-site in Princeton, NJ. The position is a full-time position for at least 3 months and remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities: ? Develop novel state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and corresponding systems, leveraging various deep learning techniques. ? Research areas may include designing advanced 2D-3D data generation algorithm, improving cross-modality alignment, vision-language modeling, multimodal fusion, embedding strategies, AI agent framework, Generative AI methods to address challenges in this domain. ? Collaborate with other team members, communicating research plans

Education and Experience:
Required:
? Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence.
? Knowledge or coursework in Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or Natural Language Processing (experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow).
? Experience with programming languages such as C++, Python, R, or MATLAB.

Preferred:
? Experience setting up ML experiments and analyzing their results.
? Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, large-scale, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.

Basic Qualifications: ? Experience in advancing AI techniques in computer vision, including core contributions to open-source libraries and frameworks in computer vision. ? Advanced programming skills in Python, C, or MATLAB. ? Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

? Ability to work independently and as part of a team
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Experience in utilizing theoretical and empirical research to solve problems.
? Strong research track record and publication record at top-tier conferences.
? Excellent communication skills.
? Familiarity with industrial processes and industrial automation.
? Experience with various Neural Network encodings such as Graph Neural Networks.
? Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and data visualization techniques.
? Strong organizational and project management skills.

The pay range for this position is $36.00-$45.00 per hour The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.?
