Our Registered Nurses facilitate relationship-centered, compassionate, quality care to patients through competent clinical practice and the application of the healing and science of professional nursing. You will be an active contributor in the prevention or resolution of illness, disability or injury, alleviation of suffering, and advocacy in the care of individuals in conjunction with interdisciplinary teams of healthcare providers, family members, and support systems. You will exercise independent judgement in utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care in accordance with ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Practice, institutional policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

Performs tasks by adhering to the ANA Nursing Process (2010) methodology:
? Obtains detailed information pertaining to the healthcare consumer's health and/or situation.
? Scrutinizes the assessment data to ascertain the diagnosis or the particular issues.
? Identify the expected results for an individualized plan targeted at the healthcare client involved.
? Crafts a design that offers strategies and alternatives for reaching desired outcomes.
? Implements the designated approach. Ensures the patient's forward movement on the plan.
? The coordination of care involves orchestrating the distribution of healthcare services.
? Health education and health promotion focus on promoting health and creating a safe environment through specific approaches.
? The role of advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists in consultation is to provide guidance that influences the outlined plan, enhances the capabilities of others, and fosters change.
? Reviews the advancements made in attaining desired results.

Complies with the ANA guidelines for Professional Performance Standards in 2010:
? Systematically improves nursing practice to optimize quality and impact
? Develops competencies and expertise that reflect the latest developments in nursing practice
? Reflecting on ones nursing practice concerning adherence to professional standards, guidelines, and legal regulations
? Communicates with and aids in the professional development of peers and colleagues
? Coordinates with patients, family members, and others to deliver effective nursing care
? All practice areas are imbued with ethical provisions to ensure compliance and integrity
? Merging research findings with practical implementation
? Factors like safety, efficacy, expenditure, and consequences on practice must be taken into consideration when developing and delivering nursing services
? Sets the pace in the professional practice setting and the particular profession
? Adopting methods that promote both environmental responsibility and health consciousness

? The care provided by a Registered Professional Nurse is in compliance with the legal requirements of the state of practice and aligns with the standards and policies mandated by accrediting and certifying bodies.
? Observes the provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses as stipulated by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Demonstrates proficiency in using applicable technology and software to:
? Assist in documenting nursing interventions and patient care activities.
? Utilize various work-related applications crucial for actively participating as a member of the organization, including company email, iLearn training modules, employee engagement surveys, information on benefits and compensation, and policies and procedures.
? Consistently striving to find opportunities to enhance patient care delivery by utilizing inventive and original problem-solving strategies.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
