Our bilingual school is recruiting a highly qualified primary Spanish lead teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Tessa International School is a fast-growing bilingual, international school located in Hoboken, New Jersey, one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We currently enroll students from early childhood to 4th grade, with plans to add one grade next year.

We are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), are a NAIS model school, and are in the process of seeking accreditation for the elementary levels by the Spanish government.

From Nursery through Kindergarten, children learn 80% of the time in the target language (either Spanish, French, or Mandarin) and 20% of the time in English. Starting in grade 1, children learn 50% of the time in the target language and 50% in English.

Tessa's Spanish Primary Lead Teacher will teach two primary classes (50% each) in alternance with an English lead teacher. Collaborative and preparation times are included in the schedule. This position provides excellent opportunities to explore new teaching practices within an international, positive, and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities: ? Preparing classes in collaboration with other primary teachers ? Preparing weekly newsletters for parents ? Preparing report cards and organizing conferences ? Participating in meetings as required by the Head of School ? Maintaining assessment records ? Representing Tessa in alignment with its mission and core beliefs ? Keeping the classroom, as well as the school, tidy and presentable ? Performing other duties as assigned ? * Native Spanish speaker or perfectly bilingual ? Master's degree in Education ? Minimum of 5 years of work experience with primary grades ? Experience with the IB PYP curriculum required ? International experience required ? Experience with dual language programs preferred ? Passionate about teaching ? Strong teamwork skills ? Ability to plan engaging and thematic lessons within programs ? Curious, enthusiastic, and positive ? Excellent level of English (for effective communication with the rest of the team and families)
