Requirements
The successful candidate must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED, with two or more years of college preferred. They must have at least one year of customer service experience in industries such as retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, or social services. Clear, concise, and organized communication is essential, particularly in emergency situations, along with fluency in English. Proficiency in a second language, such as Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin), Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, or Tagalog, is highly desirable. Candidates must have the ability to hear a full range of sounds, respond effectively in high-stress situations, and maintain a professional appearance in line with grooming and uniform standards. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck, while visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, or feet must not exceed the size of a credit card and should not be offensive. Decorative dental adornments are not allowed. Candidates must be proficient in operating electronic devices and possess a valid U.S. or foreign passport with applicable visas, ensuring at least 18 months of remaining validity at the time of application. They must also meet travel eligibility requirements for all United Airlines destinations. The role demands physical capabilities such as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stretching, and lifting heavy objects, including placing luggage in overhead bins and pushing beverage carts weighing up to 250 lbs. Candidates must also pass a functional reach assessment, sit securely in a jump seat with a seatbelt and shoulder harness, and be willing to serve food and beverages, including alcohol. A flexible schedule is required to support United?s 24/7 operations, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.

Start your journey with competitive hourly pay, which begins at $28.88/hour and can reach up to $67.11/hour based on seniority. You can also earn additional compensation for language skills, leadership roles, and international flights. The 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, equips you with the knowledge and skills to provide exceptional safety and customer service. Upon successful completion, you'll join the team as a full-time employee at one of the seven hubs or other base locations. During training, you will receive a $140/week per diem, accommodations, and meals.
