The Electrician Apprenticeship program at Tempe School District No.3 offers individuals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Apprentices will work under the guidance of experienced electricians while completing required classroom training and on-the-job training. Successful completion of the program will lead to a transition into a full Electrician position within the district.
Responsibilities
? Install, maintain and repair a variety of electrical equipment and controls including lighting systems, branch circuitry, power distribution and control circuitry.

? Install electrical services for new equipment including computer labs, recirculation desks, kitchen equipment, copiers, printers, A/C units, kilns, classroom relocations.

? Troubleshoot, maintain and service fire alarm systems for the safety of students and personnel.
,
? Maintain and service intercom systems, kitchen equipment, and security systems.
,
? Inspect and test various electrical systems for proper functioning.
,
? Revamp electrical systems for remodels and renovations.
,
? Support schools with electrical needs for other activities such as fundraising events, PTA events, and Kid Zone.

? Maintain records on time, labor and materials.

? Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
? High School Diploma or equivalent required.
,
? State of Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
,
? Valid Arizona Driver's License.
Nice-to-haves
? Skill in both verbal and written communication.

? Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
,
? Ability to use graphic instructions such as blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids.
