About the position

As a CDL Truck Driver for Waste Management (WM), you will play a crucial role in safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. This position is not just about driving; it?s about being part of a team that is committed to providing essential services to the community. You will be home every day, ensuring stability in your work-life balance while contributing to meaningful work that impacts the environment and the community positively. Your responsibilities will include adhering to all Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. You will be expected to maintain a clean and safe vehicle, performing pre- and post-trip inspections using the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). Any issues noted during these inspections must be reported for corrective action. Safety is paramount, and you will need to communicate any unsafe situations or service calls to your Route Manager or Dispatch immediately. In addition to driving, you will work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and address any problems or unsafe accounts. You will be responsible for ensuring that all containers are completely dumped and that the customer?s location is left clean and free of debris. This role requires effective communication with customers and the ability to report any incidents, accidents, or property damage promptly. You will also be required to complete and submit customer tickets for any excess yardage that must be removed, ensuring that containers are positioned correctly on the customer?s property.
