About the position

The Assistant Division Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Division Manager with the daily accounting and operational procedures at a division. This position is integral to the growth and development of the division's revenue and the success of the division staff. The Assistant Division Manager will serve as the end-of-the-line manager for all functions at the division level, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires building rapport and interacting with both internal and external customers, including employees, individual businesses, and municipal staff. The Assistant Division Manager, along with the divisional team, will work towards meeting the goals and objectives of the division, the region, and the corporation. In this position, the Assistant Division Manager will be responsible for supporting all accounting functions, which include fiduciary duties, purchasing, budgetary responsibilities, and financial planning. Client support matters will also fall under their purview, requiring them to meet, analyze, and discuss various matters with the Division Manager. Developing and maintaining constructive working relationships with managers, drivers, helpers, mechanics, and office staff is essential, as is mentoring and developing staff by overseeing department managers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. The Assistant Division Manager will oversee recruitment efforts for both exempt and nonexempt personnel, collaborating with the local HR team to ensure new personnel training aligns with company policies. Budget development and monthly needs analysis, along with yearly projections, will be part of their responsibilities. Additionally, they will be tasked with developing cost-saving plans and assisting in the implementation of annual goals and initiatives. Identifying and implementing process and control improvements will also be a key function of this role, as will maintaining relationships with municipal staff and developing new relationships for future growth.

Responsibilities

Requirements
? Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
,
? 5 years of management or supervisory work experience.
,
? Ability to multitask effectively.

? Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word.

? Strong oral and written communication skills.
,
? Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to build teams.
,
? Must possess a valid driver's license.
,
? CDL license and DOT Medical Card preferred.
