Join our team as an Administrative Clerk and make a difference in patient care!

We are looking for a friendly and organized individual to join our Patient Accounts team as an Patient Accounts Clerk. In this role, you will play a key part in making sure our patients' billing and insurance claims are handled accurately and efficiently.

What you'll be doing:
? Keeping things organized: You'll be responsible for processing mail, managing documents, and keeping patient records up-to-date.
? Teamwork makes the dream work: You'll work closely with our Patient Account Specialists and Hospital Medicare HMO Team to ensure smooth communication and efficient claims processing.
? Problem-solving pro: You'll help resolve patient account inquiries and follow up with patients and insurance providers.
? Attention to detail: Accuracy is key! You'll ensure that all patient information and financial data is handled with care and precision.

Key Responsibilities
? Process, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail to appropriate departments.
? Scan, fax, and copy documents as needed to support administrative and claims processing tasks.
? Maintain accurate records of mailed and received documents for tracking and auditing purposes.
? Handle follow-up calls and voicemails to patients and insurance providers related to document requests and claim processing.
? Retrieve and send itemized bills for high-dollar accounts.
? Monitor and manage the IBRequests email inbox, ensuring timely responses to insurance inquiries.
? Ensure compliance with confidentiality and security policies when handling sensitive documents.
? Document and escalate unresolved issues as necessary.

What you'll bring to the team:
? Organization whiz: You're a master of multitasking and prioritizing tasks, even in a fast-paced environment.
? People person: You enjoy interacting with patients and colleagues, and can communicate clearly and effectively.
? Healthcare experience: You're familiar with insurance claims, medical billing, and healthcare administration (prior experience is a plus!).
? Tech-savvy: You're comfortable using computers and various software programs.
? Confidentiality champion: You understand the importance of protecting patient privacy.

What you have:

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
? Strong clerical and administrative skills and proficiency in handling office equipment such as scanners, fax machines, and copiers
? Prior healthcare clerical experience, with familiarity in insurance claims and medical billing is strongly preferred
? Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
? Familiarity with insurance processes and medical billing is preferred
? Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
