Position Details: The Account Manager, Government is responsible for maximizing revenue within an assigned account package by growing sales with existing accounts and developing new accounts, consistent with or exceeding company expectations.
Key Responsibilities: ? Understand customer goals and remain alert and responsive to changing customer needs. ? Demonstrate knowledge of market data and access resources to quickly respond to new developments in the customer's business. ? Support managed inventory tasks to gain a deeper understanding of customers, increase contacts within the customer group, and boost sales results. ? Articulate Grainger's Value Proposition to customers, providing solutions to grow profitable sales. ? Establish customer and market priorities to execute strategic actions that accomplish sales goals. ? Develop and implement account strategies, including regular business reviews, to maximize sales. ? Ensure full compliance with company sales and pricing guidelines. ? Utilize all available resources and technical support. ? Document, analyze, and understand the impact of customer-focused activities to increase productivity and sales within the assigned market.
Qualifications: ? High School Diploma or GED. ? 3+ years of direct outside sales experience. ? Knowledge of sales forecasting, opportunity management, and customer planning. ? Technological proficiency to communicate effectively in today's business environment. ? Ability to close actions, projects, resolutions, or sales with customers. ? Capability to articulate business drivers and understand financial and total cost of ownership concepts across all organizational levels. ? Proficiency in using sales processes to uncover customer objections or concerns and determine appropriate solutions. ? Process discipline, with the ability to align planning goals with a pipeline development process to grow market revenue.
Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $70,700.00 to $117,900.00. This range reflects the potential base pay at the time of this posting, based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay will depend on factors such as geographic work location, relevant experience, and skills. Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs at its sole discretion, consistent with applicable law.
