Truck Driver Class A CDL Local
Posted 2025-04-24Truck Driver
We are seeking a dedicated Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team. The primary duty will be delivering on routes to farm stores and farms/ranches within 100-150 miles of Denton. A typical day during the busy season will be about 5-8 drops in a 10-12 hour day. Most days will be 8 hour days but the busy season will allow for some overtime. Slower days of the season may be spent delivering single stop loads or helping with operations at the warehouse. That may include helping stack pallets or running a bagging line. It won't be all the time, but when you aren't driving you will be expected to pitch in and help the team with whatever project is going on. If you are the type of driver who only wants to sit in the truck, please do NOT apply. If you are the type of driver who can help a customer restack a pallet that has fallen in transit or will look for things to do to help out when not in the truck, this is for you. We are a tight knit team and there is no room for someone who can't fit into our program.
Current location is Denton, TX but will move to Krum, TX within next 6-12 months.
You will be home every night and we offer lots of opportunities for time off. This is a great job for someone who wants to find some work-life balance. We take off for most major holidays and have extended time off during Thanksgiving and again at Christmas/New Year, so that you can be off when your kids/loved ones are home. We offer paid sick leave and paid vacation. As an agriculturally related business, we are somewhat seasonal and when it's busy, we need all hands on deck to get the job done. Time off at the busy seasons is limited and needs to be planned ahead. When we get past the busy seasons, there is more time to take vacations, etc.
Equipment to drive will be 2015 Freightliner, dry vans, belly dump grain trailers. Must be able to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack. You need to be able to lift 50 lb bags, as there will be times when you may need to restack a pallet or help out on a bagging line.
You will need to be able to find locations, clearly understand paperwork and what to unload, plus be able to interact professionally with the customers you deliver to. Communication is essential. You'll need to be able to respond to texts and phone calls and communicate clearly with the rest of the team. You will need to perform routine checks on vehicles to ensure proper maintenance and safety. And, as always, adhere to all relevant driving laws and regulations.
Skills and abilities that will increase starting pay and advancement: Ability to do minor repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers. Ability to take over management of all trucking compliance and permits with state and federal regulation agencies.
This is not a job where we will teach you how to drive. You must come with experience, proficiency and confidence driving. If you can't be on time, don't apply. We only want new team members that are responsible, mature and capable. If you can't get along with others and be cheerful and helpful with customers at delivery stops and the rest of our team, please do not apply. Submit a resume for serious consideration and to be contacted quickly.
