? Performs special projects as assigned.
? Updates and maintains adherence to the Cash Policy and Procedures.
? Completes the monthly reporting of account receivables (GASB 34).
? Supervises and provides assistance and training to Systems Accountant.
? Completes the monthly reconciliation of the Registry checking account.
? Reviews tax payments received from Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector.
? Manages departmental purchasing (purchase requisitions, goods receipts, returns, etc.).
? Maintains accounting of Central Adoption Registry funds.
? Approves Registry and general account adjustments.
? Acts as backup for the Systems Accountant position.
? Acts as backup for the Registry Funds Manager position.
? Completes the monthly reconciliation of the General account float.
? Completes annual reporting of Unclaimed Property to Tarrant County.
? Completes annual reporting of Unclaimed Property to the state.
? Runs daily Accounting Notification reports and documents.
? Verifies funds and issues refunds of over payments and unused funds from the General account.
? Issues e-File refunds.
? Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the District Clerk?s Office as assigned or required.

NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.
TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher + Five (5) full-time years of work experience in a computerized accounting environment through the general ledger.
OR
TO APPLY, must have an Associate's degree + Seven (7) full-time years of work experience in a computerized accounting environment through the general ledger.
OR
TO APPLY, must have a High School diploma or GED + Nine (9) full-time years of work experience in a computerized accounting environment through the general ledger.

Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred, having been responsible for the work output and performance evaluation of subordinates.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past Seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, lift, push and pull.

Regular attendance is essential. Incumbent must arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others. Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and others.
