About the position

As an Adjunct Faculty member at Rasmussen University, you will play a crucial role in guiding students through the intricacies of the scientific method and various research methodologies. Your responsibilities will include teaching students to identify and differentiate between descriptive, correlational, and experimental research types. You will facilitate the development of students' own experimental or correlational studies, ensuring they can critically evaluate published studies and understand data gathering techniques such as surveys, direct observation, and sampling. Additionally, you will assist students in formulating relevant research questions and developing null and alternative hypotheses, as well as the methods for evaluating these hypotheses, demonstrating how to reject or fail to reject them. In this role, you will be expected to maintain consistent communication with students, providing feedback on their performance throughout the course. You will be available for student inquiries via phone, email, and individual appointments, ensuring that you are accessible for academic assistance as outlined in the Faculty Expectations. Your professional demeanor, communication skills, and appropriate conduct will be essential in fostering a positive learning environment. The position requires you to create a dynamic and engaging classroom atmosphere, utilizing effective teaching strategies and technology to enhance student learning. You will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum and assessment methods in your area of expertise, ensuring clarity and relevance in your teaching objectives. Furthermore, you will support students through synchronous and asynchronous communication, helping them achieve their learning objectives. Participation in faculty meetings, programmatic events, and committee work is also expected, along with a commitment to professional development through the completion of Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually. This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in your teaching schedule, but is not available to residents of Colorado.

Responsibilities
? Communicate verbally and in writing with students regarding feedback on performance throughout the course.

? Be available for students via phone, email, and for individual appointments as needed.

? Respond to Dean/University staff regarding performance, student issues, or accreditation needs in a timely manner.

? Exhibit appropriate behavior, language, professional communication, demeanor, and dress at all times.

? Utilize effective teaching strategies and multiple teaching techniques to create a dynamic classroom environment.

? Create high levels of student engagement through activities and community building.
,
? Demonstrate mastery of subject matter and articulate it effectively to students.
,
? Attend faculty meetings, events, and committee work as designated by the Dean.
,
? Complete a minimum of six Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually or two per quarter for each quarter taught.

Requirements
? Minimum of 3 years' experience in the field of study preferred.
,
? Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or Social Work required.
,
? Active licensure or certification preferred (LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, HSBCP, or PsyD).
,
? Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers.
,
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
,
? Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

? Online adjuncts must have regular access to a computer with Windows XP or greater, Microsoft Office 2010, and an internet connection.
