The Fleet Services - Parts Warehouse Worker I/II position involves performing various manual and inventory recordkeeping tasks in the operation of the City supply and parts warehouse. The role includes purchasing parts and supplies, organizing inventory, and assisting City mechanics and customers with their requests. The position is available at two levels, with the II level involving additional responsibilities such as supervising lower-level staff and coordinating inventory activities.
Responsibilities
? Organize and inventory stock.

? Issue and deliver parts, supplies, and equipment requested by City mechanics and customers.

? Order, receive, stock, and inspect supplies, parts, and equipment.
,
? Obtain parts and supplies from vendors.
,
? Use computer workstation and fleet software to input parts and process work orders for vehicles needing service and repair.
,
? Maintain records, code invoices on receipt and issuance of automotive and truck parts and supplies.
,
? Assist in preparing yearly agreements with suppliers for parts, additives, and supplies.

? Answer telephone to take requests for emergency repairs and provide information to customers.

? Operate City owned light vehicles to deliver and pick up parts.

? Coordinate, monitor, and participate in the work of Parts/Warehouse Workers (for II level).

? Schedule and direct cycle inventories of stock; prepare related reports (for II level).

? Identify and contact vendors to compare costs of supplies on a regular basis (for II level).

? Order and purchase supplies based on cost comparisons, process related purchase requisitions (for II level).

? Maintain inventory control.
,
? Keep the warehouse work area clean and organized.

? Issue supplies and tools to mechanics and other workers.
Requirements
? High school diploma or GED is required.
,
? Valid Texas driver's license; ability to obtain one within ninety (90) days of employment, or a military waiver is required.

? Previous experience in recordkeeping, inventory, and/or purchasing procedures is required for Parts/Warehouse Worker I.
,
? Two (2) years of experience in recordkeeping, inventory, and/or purchasing procedures as a Parts/Warehouse Worker I or an equivalent position is required for Parts/Warehouse Worker II.

? ASE Certification as a Parts Specialist is preferred for Parts/Warehouse Worker II.
Nice-to-haves
? Military experience is preferred.
