The Museum Experience Specialist (MXS) at Thinkery is responsible for coordinating daily museum operations to enhance the guest experience and ensure efficient use of resources. This role involves modeling play-based STEAM learning, overseeing staff deployment, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all guests. The MXS plays a crucial role in fostering positive interactions and ensuring that every visitor enjoys a high-quality experience at the museum.
Responsibilities
? Oversee museum operations to ensure a seamless and enjoyable guest experience.

? Assign staff strategically to optimize guest engagement and ensure coverage across all activities.

? Engage with museum guests to model play-based STEAM learning.

? Enforce museum policies with empathy and clarity, ensuring compliance from guests and staff.

? Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by upholding museum policies and procedures.

? Guide and support Museum Experience staff in operational excellence and professional development.

? Address and resolve guest issues promptly, collaborating with relevant teams for effective solutions.

? Assess daily guest needs and make immediate decisions to enhance learning experiences.

? Collaborate with all Thinkery Experience teammates to meet organizational goals.

? Model and promote the museum's core values, emphasizing playfulness and belonging.
Requirements
? High School Diploma or GED; a STEAM-related associates' or bachelor's degree preferred.
,
? 3+ years of customer service experience.
,
? 1+ years of experience mentoring/supervising staff.
,
? Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
,
? Excellent interpersonal and public interaction skills.
,
? Strong collaborative skills, able to work effectively with staff and volunteers from multiple departments.
,
? Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
,
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
? Spanish fluency preferred; knowledge of ASL a plus.

? Experience working or volunteering in a busy, loud, public-facing environment, such as museums, food service, or retail.

? Experience working with children and families.
