Job Description:

As a Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring patients receive efficient, high-quality care. Your responsibilities will include preparing testing rooms, assisting with medical tests, and providing essential patient care. You will be involved in both clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities: ? Prepare the testing room with the proper tools and equipment for procedures. ? Walk patients through the process of needle insertion and blood sample collection. ? Label blood samples accurately for further analysis in medical laboratories. ? Clearly explain the blood-drawing process to patients and ensure their understanding. ? Reassure and calm patients who may be nervous or anxious about the procedure. ? Apply dressings to any wound caused by blood collection. ? Ensure proper patient identification, especially when working on hospital floors. ? Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures. ? Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, etc.) and document patient medical histories. ? Assist healthcare providers with medical tests and examinations. ? Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers. ? Schedule patient appointments and manage appointment logistics. ? Obtain blood samples, ensuring proper handling and storage. ? Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient records. ? Measure and record vital signs and document any changes or concerns.

Administrative Support Responsibilities: ? File, copy, and fax necessary documentation and patient records. ? Maintain organized records and assist with the management of patient files. ? Assist with typing and documentation for physicians as a scribe. ? Use computer systems to enter patient information and manage medical records.

Skills & Qualifications: ? Proficiency in computer systems and medical software. ? Strong research skills for retrieving relevant information. ? Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare staff. ? Ability to stay organized and manage administrative tasks efficiently. ? Compassionate and calm demeanor when interacting with patients. ? Bilingual Spanish preferred.
