The Patient Access Representative is responsible for scheduling primary and specialty office visits while maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographics and insurance information. This role involves verifying patient eligibility, coordinating insurance benefits, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of healthcare scheduling and insurance processes.
Key Responsibilities: ? Schedule appointments for primary care and specialty visits in a timely and accurate manner. ? Provide clear location instructions and ensure patients are informed about visit details. ? Maintain and update patient demographic information, including address, phone numbers, and other personal details. ? Verify patient eligibility and obtain accurate insurance benefits for each visit. ? Coordinate insurance benefits and ensure accurate processing of claims. ? Act as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies to address and resolve any discrepancies. ? Communicate effectively with patients to confirm appointments, collect necessary information, and provide answers to inquiries. ? Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy policies (HIPAA), and organizational standards. ? Assist with administrative tasks, including scanning documents, handling phone calls, and providing support to other team members. ? Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications: ? High school diploma or equivalent. ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ? Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment. ? Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. ? Commitment to providing exceptional patient service.
