Security Officer I - Full Time

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general guidance of the Security Manager, assist in providing security for patents, employees, visitors and physicians; protects hospital buildings, assets and premise as assigned. Adheres to applicable state laws, follows Hendrick Medical Center?s Policy & Security written job guides approved by the department of Security.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education
? High School or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience
? 2 years relevant experience
? The minimum age for Security Officer is 21 years of age by date of appointment.

Required Licenses / Certifications
? Obtain and maintain a Level III Commissioned Security Officers state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within 8 weeks of employment.
? Ability to pass written and physical PSB course of instruction (obtained within 6 months of employment)
? A clear and active Texas Divers License
? Maintain a clear police record
? Ability to pass prescribed course(s) in weapon proficiency

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
? Ability to deal effectively with community / consumers and hospital personnel.
? Ability to handle confidential information.
? Requires extreme diplomacy and tact.
? Conduct basic investigations and interview others.
? Operate security electronic equipment including CCTV and access control.
? Handles emergency or crisis situations
? Requires judgment or action that could potentially lead to the use of lethal force.
