Assistant/Associate Professor of Civil Engineering

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study from an accredited institution ( conferred before the start date of Fall 2024 ).

Preferred Qualifications Applicants are preferred to have one or more of these qualifications: 1) experience and/or demonstrated ability in teaching various courses in construction engineering and management and basic courses in civil engineering, 2) experience and/or demonstrated ability developing and teaching courses integrating machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, and/or intelligent engineering systems content within the context of civil engineering applications for the graduate program, 3) experience and/or demonstrated ability to propose and lead new research projects and proposals to secure external federal, state, or private funding from agencies, such as NSF , DoD, DOE , NIH , USDOT , NASA , TxDOT, or others, 4) experience and/or demonstrated ability working with undergraduate and graduate engineering students, 5) excellent communication skills and teamwork ability, 6) demonstrated ability to play a collaborative role as a team member in initiatives for partnerships with schools, community colleges, government agencies, and industry to create an environment that will bring economic prosperity to the Rio Grande Valley, and 7) Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
