Our Residential Loan Officer (RLO) is primarily an outside sales position, responsible for originating 1- 4 family residential loans for the Bank. Our Residential Loan Officers primary function is to establish referral relationships with Realtors, Builders, CPAs, Architects and others who may come in contact with consumers needing a residential loan. The RLO is to promote business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. Our RLO will meet with clients to discuss loan programs & terms, take the loan application, discuss all disclosures and compliance issues, obtain applicants information and documentation necessary for processing, underwriting and closing. Our RLO is to work closely with the processing staff in insuring the loan closes on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Prospects for and Develops relationships with referral sources for individuals seeking mortgage financing to purchase, build or refinance a 1-4 family residence.
2. The RLO will meet with loan applicants at a location convenient to the client to discuss various loan programs & rates offered by the bank and help the applicant determine the best loan program that meets their needs.
3. The RLO will pre-qualify the prospective borrower, complete the loan application, pull credit, explain all loan requirements, documents and disclosures, prepare and explain the Good Faith Estimate and the Truth-in-Lending forms.
4. Collect required fees and supporting documentation from the applicant.
5. Turn application file into Processing within 24 hours.
6. Communicate with the Applicant, Realtor or Builder referral source as to application status and anticipated closing date and closing agent.
7. Provide weekly status updates to all parties.
8. Attend closings to represent the Bank and help the Borrower with understanding the documents.
9. The RLO will be responsible for promoting all bank products to the Borrower and making the Borrower a long-term banking customer. RLO will learn about depository products in order to accomplish this task.
10. Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.
11. Develops and maintains knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors and competition.
12. Represents the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank?s image and develop additional business; assists the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.
13. Cross-sells the Bank?s other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as indicated.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor?s degree (BA) in business or equivalent education; 2 years? experience in residential lending or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas.
? Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all lending activities and terminology.
? Intermediate knowledge of construction, real estate and residential loan processing.
? Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
? Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
? Ability to develop marketing and business development skills with customers.
? Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system; and word processing and spreadsheet software.
