Job Summary
UP TO $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES
The LPN in an ambulatory setting is responsible for collaborating with others to provide direct and indirect patient care. They administer nursing care to designated patients under the oversight of a physician or Registered Nurse (RN) and accept delegated tasks to address patient needs effectively. The LPN ensures the delivery of nursing care in accordance with Monument Health's policies and procedures, professional standards, and in compliance with the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act, as well as other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
? Establishes the examination and treatment areas in accordance with clinic standards.
? Prepares for patient care through thorough pre-visit planning and arranging exam and treatment areas in compliance with clinic standards.
? Manages patient rooming tasks, encompassing vital sign assessment, data collection, and other clinic-specific components.
? Safely administers medications and ensures thorough documentation in compliance with clinic protocols.
? Undertakes nursing tasks and therapies within the Scope of Responsibilities, in compliance with the standards set by the nursing division and clinic.
? Demonstrates adeptness in performing and documenting assessments, applying clinical interventions, evaluating results, and making changes to the care plan in cooperation with an RN or provider.
? Supply preprinted patient education materials. Reinforce the information shared during health teaching and discharge instructions by the RN or provider, directing patients to reach out to them for any questions that arise.
? Accomplishes independent nurse assessments in accordance with department regulations and appropriate supervision.
? Provide assistance in handling inbox activities and carrying out patient referrals and prior authorizations per the defined policies and limits of responsibilities.
? Contributes to the onboarding and mentoring of clinical personnel in alignment with prescribed guidelines.
? Contributes to the department's development by engaging in meetings, committees, and continuous education/training initiatives.
? Validates the clarity and accuracy of patient record documentation in accordance with specified Duties.
? Any other responsibilities as directed.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Certification - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Preferred:
Experience - 1+ years of Healthcare Experience
Physical Requirements:
Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
