The Department of Natural & Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a tenure-eligible faculty position in Computer Science in Eagle Pass, Texas beginning August 2025. This is a full-time and on-campus position in Eagle Pass. This is a full-time and on-campus position in Eagle Pass.
?Assistant/Associate Professor applicants must have Ph.D. in Computer Science, DCS, or terminal degree in closely related area from an accredited institution. ABD applicants will be considered, (appointment at instructor rank until all degree requirements are completed, which must be before September 1, 2026).
?Instructor applicants must have a Master? degree in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Cyber Security or a closely related field.
?Two years of teaching experience (graduate student teaching experience accepted) in a broad range of undergraduate courses in computer science
?Strong working knowledge of core computer science concepts including data structures, software engineering, operating systems, computer architecture and cyber security
?Demonstrated excellence in classroom and online classes
Preferred
?Teaching experience and research at the university level
?Commitment to grow the undergraduate computer science program through
developing innovative curriculum and student learning experiences
Scholarly activity
?Industry experience, particularly within the cyber security field
?Administrative experience and committee work at the university level
Primary Responsibilities
?Teach Computer Science core and elective classes
?Contribute to growth of innovative computer science program
?Team up with colleagues in accelerator program for the new Main Street Incubator to support aspiring entrepreneurs and local business owners
?Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty to create experiential learning opportunities
?Work with student support services and faculty to develop strategies for student success in computer science
?Monitor program and course outcomes to ensure teaching objectives match program objectives and students are able to transition from lower level to upper level course work
?Assist with College of Humanities & Science projects to meet various objectives and needs.
?Engage in academic and institutional governance by serving on councils and committees.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
