About the position

The SBA Senior Loan Packaging & Closing Specialist is responsible for the processing, packaging, and closing of all SBA and USDA loans. This role involves close collaboration with the SBA Lending team, attorneys, third-party vendors, and various internal departments to ensure compliance with SBA loan program requirements. The specialist will provide administrative support throughout the loan origination and closing process while maintaining effective communication with clients, borrowers, brokers, and government entities.

Responsibilities
• Manage the Commercial Loan Pipeline (CLP) record and monitor status through each phase of the process.

• Assist in the collection and review of required application and financial documents to establish the packaging checklist.

• Draft, review, and manage the SBA Processing Checklist, SBA Forms, draft Authorizations, and Loan Commitment Letters.

• Review approved SBA and/or USDA credit application packages for due diligence and documentation compliance.

• Package, process, and submit loan files for various types of loans including GP and PLP loans.

• Update CLP as items are completed and provide frequent status updates to Borrower and SBA Relationship Manager.

• Engage HomeTrust Bank approved counsel for loan documents and coordinate ordering of UCC searches and title work.

• Approve and disburse funds per the final approved Settlement Statement, ensuring CLP is up to date for onboarding.

• Participate in weekly departmental and pipeline meetings.

• Perform a post-closing review of original executed loan documents and compile for SBA Loan Servicing.

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
,
• 5+ years of loan processing experience, with 2+ years in SBA packaging/closing.
,
• Experience in reviewing title work/title insurance.
,
• Experience in reviewing property, liability, and flood insurance policies.
,
• Experience with SBA programs, E-Tran, and processing requirements.
,
• Experience managing client relationships and processes.
,
• Strong communication skills in conversational interactions.
