About the position

The Principal Auditor, Quality Assurance - Audit Practices at Capital One is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and improvement program within the Audit function. This role involves performing quality assurance reviews, driving key quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration with audit teams and leadership. The position is designed for a self-motivated individual who can manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate and execute quality assurance reviews, including providing major input to planning and testing, as well as identification, development, and documentation of exceptions.
,
• Prepare clear, organized, and complete documentation to support work performed.
,
• Deliver verbal and written communication to the audit teams and audit leadership.
,
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with audit teams and audit leadership.
,
• Self prioritize and effectively plan your own work activities managing multiple priorities and tasks across the team to deliver quality results.
,
• Design and execute best-in-class operational processes and improvement initiatives of moderate complexity for the quality assurance and improvement program.
,
• Provide training and coaching to audit team members during quality assurance reviews and, as applicable, provide training to the broader Audit department.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or military experience
,
• At least 3 years of experience in auditing, in accounting, in financial analysis, in compliance, or a combination
,
• At least 2 years of experience in banking or in financial services

Nice-to-haves
• 2+ years of experience in leading audits and performing in the role of auditor-in-charge, or performing quality assurance reviews
,
• 1+ years of experience in performing data analysis in support of internal auditing
,
• Master's Degree in Accounting, Master's Degree in Finance, or Master of Business Administration
,
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or relevant certification
